We Were the Oilers: The Luv Ya Blue Era is now available on Amazon!
Several former Houston Oilers players reminisced about a great era and a beloved team with some of the best fans in NFL history for the football documentary We Were the Oilers: The Luv Ya Blue! Era. The film mostly focuses on the late 1970s Oilers teams that made back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 1978 and 1979, but delves deeper into franchise history with stories from players who played for the American Football League Houston Oilers of the 1960s.
The film originally aired on Root Sports Southwest in early 2017 during Super Bowl week in Houston. Some of the greatest players in Houston Oilers history shared stories for the film, including Hall of Famers Elvin Bethea, Robert Brazile, Ken Houston, and Earl Campbell. Quarterback Dan Pastorini also appeared in the documentary, as well as Billy “White Shoes” Johnson, Mike Renfro, Kenny Burrough, Vernon Perry, and assistant coaches Ed Biles and Wade Phillips.
